Palliative care integration indicators: an European regional analysis

Objective To estimate the capacity of European countries to integrate palliative care (PC) into their health systems through PC service provision for patients all ages, with different needs and diseases, in various settings by a range providers. Methods Secondary analysis survey data from 51 22 indicators explored integration available resources children, at primary level, oncology cardiac patients, long-term facilities. We also measured volunteer participation. Results were quantified, converted weighted subscores area combined single ‘Integration Capacity Score (ICS)’ each country. Thirty-eight reported 543 specialised paediatric services. One-third surveyed 20% or more level. Twenty-four have total 155 designated centres that PC.
